Lloyd Yard
Situated in an iconic location on Rotterdam’s Lloydpier, Lloyd Yard forms a striking urban ensemble that unites the past and the future. The project comprises several building blocks, each with its own distinct character, yet united by their use of materials, rhythmic design and a shared courtyard garden that brings a sense of tranquillity amidst the urban fabric.
For the façade finish of this residential complex, Limeparts-Drooghmans brought together a versatile palette of materials. Ceramic tiles provide an elegant and durable touch, whilst Corten steel evokes the site’s robust maritime history. Coated aluminium panels, in turn, add a contemporary accent, with clean lines and a refined finish.
The combination of these three materials not only creates a strong visual contrast but also demonstrates technical ingenuity. The different façade systems fit together perfectly, despite their varying characteristics, and contribute to both the aesthetics and the performance of the building.
With Lloyd Yard, Limeparts-Drooghmans reaffirms its role as an expert in the execution of complex façade projects, in which technical precision goes hand in hand with architectural refinement.
